PROGRAM
■Goi Peace Award Ceremony and Commemorative Address / Deepak Chopra
The Goi Peace Award is presented annually to honor individuals and organizations in various fields that have made outstanding contributions toward the realization of a peaceful and harmonious world for all life on earth. The 2010 Goi Peace Award will be presented to Deepak Chopra, a world authority in the field of mind-body medicine.
Deepak Chopra, M.D. is a world-renowned authority in the field of mind-body medicine, and a global force in the field of human empowerment. He is the author of over 55 books published in more than 85 languages, with numerous best sellers on mind-body health, spirituality, and peace, including Peace Is the Way, which won the Quill Award, and The Book of Secrets, which was awarded the grand prize at the 2005 Nautilus Book Awards. Dr. Chopra is a popular international presenter and keynote speaker, a radio program host, and a columnist. He is the founder and chairman of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in Carlsbad, California and the Chopra Foundation, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, an adjunct professor at Kellogg School of Management, and a senior scientist with the Gallup Organization.
■Voice of Youth "My Role in Creating a Peaceful World"
The 2010 International Essay Contest for Young People cosponsored by the Goi Peace Foundation and UNESCO attracted more than 7,200 entries from over 140 countries. First prize winners of the children’s and youth categories will receive the Minister of Education Award and recite their essays on the theme.
■Talk Session "Mind & Body; Science & Spirituality"
What is the connection between the visible outer world and the invisible inner world? What could emerge from their unity? Panelists will explore these topics through scientific understanding and timeless wisdom.

■Japanese Traditional Dance "Prayer for Peace" / Senrei Nishikawa
Senrei Nishikawa is an award-winning dancer, choreographer, and artistic director. Her original dance performance is full of high spirit and modern sensitivity, and goes far beyond traditional Japanese dance.
