The Goi Peace Foundation Forum 2010 was held at Yomiuri Hall in Yurakucho, Tokyo on November 7, 2010, under the theme "The Power of Consciousness to Create Peace."
Centered around the lecture by the 2010 Goi Peace Award laureate Deepak Chopra, this year's program focused on consciousness as the key to our physical, mental, spiritual and social wellbeing as well as creating peace in the world.
The opening Japanese traditional dance "Prayer for Peace" by Senrei Nishikawa purified the atmosphere of the fully packed hall of over a thousand participants. After President Hiroo Saionji's introduction of the Foundation's vision for creating a new civilization, the Goi Peace Award Ceremony took place, followed by Dr. Chopra's enlightening commemorative address on "Global Well Being." The International Essay Contest winner, Angelina Yudina from Russia appeared in her national costume and inspired the audience with her essay and song.
In the second part of the program, Dr. Chopra was joined by contemporary opinion leader Hiroshi Tasaka and Goi Peace Foundation Chairperson Masami Saionji in a Talk Session entitled "Mind & Body; Science & Spirituality" to explore intriguing and profound questions such as "Who am I?" and "What is death?" from both scientific and spiritual perspectives.
