I was selfish, during my whole life. I always wanted the best in my Academic life, Social Life and my Personal Interests. As I moved to China and left Korea, I became ignorant of my own country and Chinese Local Environment. While I was ignoring my local environment, China’s Sichuan Province was stroked by the one of the most dreadful natural disasters. The Sichuan Province Earthquake caused over millions of victims who are currently receiving enormous pains and problems. The Whole Universe is grieving and despairing about this serious issue and numerous countries are sending Aids for the victims. Yet, the consequence of the Earthquake is dreadful.
I was simply shocked. The Sichuan Province is relatively close to my school and I couldn’t believe Millions of People died in 10 minutes. Our School tried a bake sale and promotion for the Sichuan Province donation fund, unfortunately people were actually focused and passionate of the bake sale rather than considering the serious affect of the Earth Quake. After watching few news series of Sichuan Earthquake’s affect, I deeply sorrowed for the victims of Earthquake, and I thought of a project which will luckily help the local student’s education.
My School had this program called Guizhou Sisters and Habitat Café. The Guizhou sister was a program which the students or the student’s parents were able to donate money or fund for Children’s education. There were about 100 children and every student’s parents were encouraged to donate money for 1 student as a personal donator and the system have sent the money to the village until every student had a donator. The Habitat Café was a café which provided beverages or snacks for the parents in school conferences and the High School Students were required to stay in café and sell the beverages. That way, the students truly understood and engaged toward the project. The profit from the café was sent to the Guizhou Village’s house construction. I personally feel two of the projects were fantastic to engage school students and parents to the local poverty and the projects also showed a heart touching experience to everybody.
My Project is influenced by these two projects. I wished if our School will be able to donate fund for the students who unfortunately lost their School. I heard many of the schools in Sichuan Province’s school were collapsed. This part of the project will directly send school fees for the students whom school was collapsed. I hope our student council or myself could actual arrange about 100 students whose school were destroyed by the earthquake. Another part of the project is the actual Habitat Café. I wish my fellow students and the High School Teachers will arrange a moment for us to experience to volunteer in the cafe and actually have fun! I do believe this habit café is more efficient than the bake sale, because I personally believe me and my fellow students can truly feel the importance of the café’s donation. And, by volunteering in the actual café you don’t put the focus or passion in the beverages but you put your passion into volunteering, which is very affective. All the profit of Habitat Café’s donation will fortunately help the local schools construction in Sichuan Province. I think the students in Sichuan Province will receive a positive energy by receiving care and love from the people who are in their age.
Sichuan province’s earthquake has caused illusion in local environment and the atmosphere in my town is relatively negative. I do believe my project is a small and simple plan to the local community and in my school, but I do know the whole project is full of respects and positive energy. I be will so glad, if the project works, and luckily all of the local Chinese will actually think we do care about the local environment and the people we live around. I hope one day there will be no border between nationalities and fostering positive energy in our environment. |
