In 2025, we asked youth (up to age 30) from different backgrounds around the world a single question: “What does peace mean to you?” The answers weren’t only about a world without war. Again and again, they spoke of small, everyday things — sharing a meal with family, being able to smile today, etc. This is an active Peace Voices Map — and it continues to grow.
Last year, 1,247 peace voices from 73 countries were gathered and shared with the world. This year we’re going further: every new voice will be added to an active Peace Voices Map — of what peace means to young people toward the Peace Day, 21 September.
This isn’t just “send a video.” Instead it’s to add your peace voice, and help show the world what peace looks like.
Peace Voices is growing through collaboration with individuals, communities, and organizations around the world that share our commitment to peace. One of our partner organizations is Peace One Day, an international organization led by Jeremy Gilley. Peace One Day aims to engage three billion people worldwide in observing the International Day of Peace on September 21 and is helping us share Peace Voices with audiences around the world.

When we read or watched last year’s peace voices, the same or similar peace voices appeared again and again — far more about everyday life than we expected. These figures are from 2025; this year’s map is still growing.

A single Peace Voice may contain multiple themes; the shares have been normalized to 100%.
