The Barbara Fields Humanitarian Peace Award was inaugurated in 2012 to celebrate the measurable contribution by women peace leaders to local communities, at the same time demonstrating sustainable global impact. Presented initially to Dr. Barbara E. Fields, Executive Director of the Association for Global New Thought (AGNT), the award is annually bestowed upon a woman who has dedicated her life to bringing peace to our world. She brings leadership in the face of controversy promoting peace and understanding in the midst of differences. Her commitment to human rights and social justice through humanitarian grassroots initiatives promotes a world of peace that works for all people and all nations.
In recognition of her many years of global peace leadership, Goi Peace Foundation chairperson Masami Saionji was presented with the 2016 Barbara Fields Humanitarian Peace Award at a ceremony which took place at the AGNT Symposium in San Diego, CA on October 26, 2016.
