We are happy to announce that the Goi Peace Foundation will organize an online event “Growing a Peaceful Future with Nature -Building a Sustainable World through Empathy-” coming July (*See the “Date/Time” section below for your local time.):

Youth events aim to foster a community of young people from around the world, who will play a leading role as peacemakers in their respective countries. At each event, participants not only learn from the inspirational talks of the lecturers who dedicate their lives in creating peace, but also learn from each other.

We are inviting Joaquín F. Leguía Orezzoli, Founder and Director of ANIA (Asociación para la Niñez y su Ambiente), based in Perú as our main speaker. With his firm belief that “Nature is our teacher,” he will share his vision, life story, and experiences of working with children to nurture their empathy for life for nearly 30 years. His focus includes Mother Nature in the education system as a teacher of empathy for life: the capacity to feel, think, and act for oneself, other people, and the natural world.

Joaquín will join us from Costa Rica where he currently leads his initiative Nature as a teacher in the education system.

This event is open to everyone in the world via YouTube Live Stream, regardless of age. (Registration has been closed)

Joaquín has a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences from Cornell University (1989) and a master’s degree in environmental management from Yale University (1994). In 1995, he founded the Association for Children and their Environment (ANIA), to ensure that new generations bond with Mother Nature, develop empathy for life, and adopt lifestyles that regenerate the natural world and human relationships. There are currently TiNi in 11 countries and the Ministries of Education of Peru (2015) and Ecuador (2017) have institutionalized it.
