Dear Friends of Peace,
We are happy to announce that the Goi Peace Foundation will organize an online event “How Can We Create Peace?” on Saturday, September 16th, 16:00-17:30, Japan time (Check your local time) as a lead up to the International Day of Peace (September 21st) designated by the United Nations.
We are inviting back A-bomb survivor Ms. Toshiko Tanaka as our main speaker, since many of you expressed your wish to learn more from her, after her appearance in the Peace Dialogue Hiroshima 2023 held in May. Please see details of the program below.
This is an exclusive event organized for the winners and recent participants of the International Essay Contest for Young People, as well as their friends. The Goi Peace Foundation plans to continue holding events like this to foster a community of young people from around the world, who will play a leading role as peacemakers in their respective countries.

About Toshiko Tanaka

About Toshiko Tanaka
Born in Hiroshima in 1938, Ms. Toshiko Tanaka was exposed to the Atomic bomb while attending school on August 6th, 1945, and suffered severe burns. After marriage, she began Shippo enamel art and has received numerous awards. In 1981, her artwork was presented to Pope John Paul II. Since 2008, she has visited more than 80 countries to talk about her A-bomb experience and her hope for peace. Currently, her home is open to the public as a “Peace Exchange Space” to share her experiences with visitors.
